Helping Clients Manage Their Clients’ Location Data on 3rd Party Websites and Providing Assistance as Needed

Our client, a U.S. listed technology firm, planned to carry out a pilot run of location data management for their customers in China and needed assistance implementing.

Solutions/Methodology

SmithStreet conducted the following tasks to ensure a smooth run:

  • Obtaining original store location data from our client’s customers, along with their log-in details
  • Store location data are often in a messy and unified state, therefore SmithStreet needed to clean the data per agreed form
  • Manually uploading data to the 6 maps/publisher and the client’s own platform
  • Conducting manual “location verification” required by Baidu map, Amap and Tencent map, which is usually via telephone
  • The maps do not necessarily update their location data, SmithStreet needed to check each of the locations one by one and report errors
  • Repeating step 5 until all locations have been updated to the most recent version
