    OUR ETHOS

    The story of David and Goliath inspires our strategy and company ethos. It is the story of how Goliath, the largest and greatest warrior of the ancient Philistines was killed by David in one-on-one combat. David was a simple shepherd boy who fired a single stone with a slingshot. Goliath was slow and weighed down by heavy armor; David is brandishing a deadly weapon that he can use from a far distance and because he has no armor is light and mobile.     What advantages does SmithStreet have? We are small and mobile; we built this company in China for our clients to succeed in China; and we have grown up in a world where the internet has changed the way that information is collected and disseminated.     Clay Christensen, of the Innovator’s Dilemma, argues that the consulting industry is in the process of disruption because big consulting firms are chasing big clients with big problems, whilst ignoring smaller projects that is taken on by smaller firms, who develop techniques in these less profitable areas that they later use to compete on bigger projects.

    Job Descriptions:

    • Understand the nature of the client’s needs in context and lead the research team in structuring the problem, business modeling, and formulating the appropriate business solution
    • Be responsible for project planning, monitoring of effort and timelines, and building industry knowledge within the research team
    • Manage the team to conduct in-depth interviews with various respondents, key opinion leaders, and high level personnel across a variety of industries
    • Construct and develop effective client presentations and deliverables in PowerPoint and Excel

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or above.
    • Working experience in research or consulting firm will be a plus.
    • Excellent command of English (both spoken and written)
    • Independent and strong logical thinking, creative, analytical skill and detail-oriented
    • Strong communication skills, hardworking, willing to learn, flexible and a good team player
    • Understand the nature of the client’s needs in context and lead the research team in structuring the problem, business modeling, and formulating the appropriate business solution

    Qualifications:

    • At least 2 years of work experience in consulting industry.
    • Independent and strong logical thinking, creative, analytical skill and detail-oriented.
    • Strong communication skills, hardworking, willing to learn, flexible and a good team player.
    • Lead project teams to provide strategic consulting services in project design, supervision, and analysis to ensure meaningful and value-added findings are generated from projects
    • Understand client needs and business context of client work, e.g., market entry, expansion, customer segmentation, distribution etc.
    • Generate insights and recommendations to impact clients’ strategic decision making
    • Deliver client presentations (for proposal or report) in a highly confident & professional manner
    • Communicate the project status to the Partner in charge
    • Maintain close relationships with clients to enhance trust level and to explore further business opportunities.
    • Manage the team, including team planning, team building, recruitment, motivation, training, and team member career plan and performance review.
    • Undertake sales activities independently or in conjunction with senior staff in terms of preparation and delivery of proposal and credentials

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor degree or above.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in consulting industry.
    • Strong client focus and pro-activeness
    • Very good influencing, persuading and project management skills
    • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must, Chinese language skills preferred.
    • Independent, strong critical thinking and analytical skills and detail-oriented
    • Strong personal qualities including great attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, ability to lead and develop a research team, detail-oriented and openness to learn.
    • Experience in moderating focus group discussions and in-depth interviews.
    • Understand team needs and business context of team work. 
    • Conduct industry research and company research, both primary and secondary.
    • Data collecting and analyzing base on the projects.
    • Deliver high quality client work in PowerPoint presentations and translated documents.
    • Coordinate activities with the team leader.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or above.
    • Working experience in research or consulting firm will be a plus.
    • Strong communication skills, flexible and highly socialized.
    • Excellent command of English both spoken and written.
    • Independent and strong logical thinking, analytical skill and detail-oriented.
    • Strong personal qualities including: great attitude, openness to learn and good team player.
